Gods Foreknowledge

That Almighty God did actually know everything that would happen from all eternity is a fact totally beyond human comprehension, but the scriptural teaching of this fact is indisputable. This doctrinal teaching is one of the attributes that pertains to the godliness of God [the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit] and is called His foreknowledge. [We use the term ‘godliness’ (2Tm. 3:15) because these attributes pertains only to God; God is not human, God is God!] Foreknowledge simply means to know beforehand. To know before it happens! The ability to see what does not yet exist in time but already exists outside of time in eternity. Because of God’s foreknowledge of the end, God begin with the end in mind [Eph. 1 & Rev. 20-22. In the Beginning God… (Gen. 1:1); God did so because God already knew how it all ends and therefore His purposes would be revealed through – out history! God knows the future, sees the future just as he knows what is in the Past. God dwells outside of time and space.

Isaiah 46:9-10 – [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me, [10] Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose, [Amp]

Meaning simply God knows in advance everything before it happens … God is not the cause of it all but has knowledge of it all.

God knew the ending and therefore created man and time so as to accomplish His purposes and the End! (Actually with God there is no ending, just a completion of His eternal purposes; Rev. 20-22 does not end it all, it just completes God’s plan! 1 Cor. 15:24 After that comes the end (the completion), when He delivers over the kingdom to God the Father after rendering inoperative and abolishing every [other] rule and every authority and power). What is so remarkable and incomprehensive to us mere humans is that God allows mankind to have free will and freedom of choice to bring about His purposes without violating man’s free will or freedom of choice.

Listen to me now … God knows who will be saved and who will not however in knowing … God does not select who is to be saved. It is still a matter of free will!

  • GOD IS OMNISCIENT ~ ALL KNOWING
  • OMNIPOTENT ~ ALL POWERFUL
  • OMNI-PRESENT ~ PRESENT EVERYWHERE

IF GOD KNOWS ALL THINGS BEFORE HAND, why then does God not stop EVIL THINGS from happening? The answer is man’s free will to choose and make decisions. With those choices and freewill come consequences that affect not only him but others as in the case of Adam’s sin … the whole universe! You may choose to drink and drive or to text while you are driving and cause an accident in which case it may involve the life of another. Your freedom to do so could cause another’s loss of their free will. God will not over ride your free will!

God in being God foreknew that His purpose for creating man would be accomplished in spite of Adam’s sin through His Son.

God created this earth, space and time and created a god-like man to rule in His behalf with free will and the freedom of choice. God created an immortal being in a physical body … made of the earth in God’s very image; remember God fashion man’s body from something that already existed … dust of the earth. Now you will see how important this is concerning both His and man’s authority in the earth and the reason Satan had to use the body of the serpent.

I wish I had the ability to articulate the importance of what the scripture means to be created in His image and likeness! We have been given the god-like power of free will. No other being other than earth dwellers [not even the animals who ruled by instinct] were given this god-like power. Angels in heaven were not given this great gift of free will.

In giving man this authority God with foreknowledge knew that very being would sin because of that free will … power of choice but God knows too how it will end! God KNEW; LISTEN TO ME, the reason being because there is no being like himself in the entire universe. God is the one of the only kind in existence. GOD DECLARES THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM OR WILL THERE EVER BE … IS.. 44:6 … THERE IS NO GOD BUT ME… IS. 43:10 … THERE WAS NO GOD BEFORE AND THERE IS NONE BESIDE ME … God is not human and therefore man without spiritual revelation cannot comprehend such [1 Cor. 2:9-12]! There is but one God! Many worship false gods or deities… but there is only one Jesus! And our God (Head) can do no evil or sin! God, the Christian God is incapable of injustice or wrong doing! God is the only being who cannot sin even if God wanted to … God could not; there is no evil in God! So God in being God [so is a two letter word that carries a lot of power] could choose not to create man and to continue to exist as He had before creation; or choose to create man without free will as the angels in heaven who are commanded just to do God’s bidding with no say so. But then man would not have been created in His likeness and image. So God with foreknowledge created man with free will knowing that Adam would sin. But God knowing how all of this will end had a plan in which he would redeemed and restore man so that man would still retain the freedom of free will. God foreknew the only way to keep man from sinning would be not to create him! God in being a Holy God, a just God, and a righteous God could not create such a being and allow such a being to exist, rule and live in such an unholy state of sin. So the choice would be to not to create man at all or to create man knowing he would sin, limit his days upon the earth by physical death until the Father would provide for man’s redemption, reconciliation and restoration back to His Creator through the death of His Son on the cross. At physical death, the soul and spirit which has an endless existence must dwell in a temporary place; heaven for those who choose to follow God or hell for those who choose not to… matter of free will! Allowing for man’s free will to choose to accept His redemption is why the cross is the only acceptable way to the Father … He paid the supreme price! YOU SEE WE HAVE FREE WILL … IT’S OUR CHOICE! And God will honor it! The reason for heaven is so that the Day will come when Christ will gather the last person who by their freedom of choice [free will] accepts the plan of salvation, Christ will gather all Believers together [what an assembly] at one time and create and give to us new physical eternal bodies [1 Cor. 15:50-55] and that which God intended from the beginning will be completed.
